That is the number of pancakes Eden ate this morning for breakfast!
Then she asked for a waffle
(we did not have any waffles and the batter was gone so we couldn't make any ... poor Eden).
P.S. You can look forward to a bunch of posts coming up. Many projects are done, the awesome visitors have gone home, and Phil got IPhoto working again. Hooray! Posts, posts, and posts! (after I get my laundry done and house cleaned and YW stuff prepared ... maybe tomorrow).

She has needs, ya know...
While we were in Utah Eden became very vocal about her needs. She would say,
"I need mom."
or
"I need outside."
or
"I need cracker (or cookie, or cooker - which obviously is a cracker-cookie)"
but two of my favorites were these:
While driving from Alpine (south of SLC) to Cache Valley (north of SLC) there was a bad accident and the interstate was shut down. We had to travel on a slower highway (with everyone else) and so the trip that usually takes two hours took four. Eden was frustrated, tired, and eventually just mad. It was snowing and we were creeping along at about five miles an hour. I could only show her the cattle truck we kept passing so many times before she had just had it. Finally about a half hour from grandma's house she began to cry huge, fat, wet tears. In the middle of her sobs she repeated,
"I need grandma, I need grandma."
It was so sweet and sad.
A few days later at grandma's house (actually I think it was at aunt Heather's) we had just finished a big meal. Everyone was sitting around talking. There was a plate of my mother's hand dipped chocolates on the table. Eden walked up to the group of women sitting around talking and proclaimed,
"I need chocolate!"
It was classic.

I'm already ruining her!
Today Eden and I were at the store and of course they place all the candy right at her eye-level. So, she picked up some Mentos, looked at me and said, "sad, sad" and then handed me the candy. I put it back. Then she picked up a chocolate bar and repeated, "sad, sad, grunt" and handed me the candy bar. It was as if she was saying, I'm sad and this will make it all better. Have I really already turned her into an emotional eater? Pllllease!

"NO!"
Scene: Bamamoma and the Bambino are in their kitchen eating lunch. They are having very tasty (leftover) stroganoff and steamed carrots. Bamamoma looks over and notices that the Bambino is holding her plate in a vertical fashion and all the food is sliding down and splatting on the kitchen floor.
Bamamoma: "No, no please. We do not drop food on the floor. Now we will have to clean up that mess."
Bamamoma continues to eat her food and then when she is done she makes a PB & honey sandwich for the Bambino. She hands her the sandwich and the Bambino acts with great excitement. She then pulls the two pieces apart (as is her way) so that she now has two open-faced sandwich pieces. She then holds each of them past her tray and over the floor. She holds them there and makes eye contact with Bamamoma.
Bamamoma: "Don't you drop that sandwich, you eat it."
Bambino: (maintaining eye contact) "NO!"
